AppleOption wanted to share the good news in this crazy market… our Index Condor Portfolio closed the January SPY Condor for 51.2% profit! This is an exceptional return… especially when we are only aiming for a +10% return for the month.

We called the shots correctly on this one… Back on Dec 20th we sold the SPY 138/140/152/154 condor. As we approach options expiration (Friday), AppleOption decided to take advantage of yesterdays market gains to buy back our SPY put and then this morning sell to close the other leg on the put side. The call side of the trade has a 99% change to finished out of the money… thus worthless on Friday. Our trade produced an initial credit of $0.77, with a real risk of $1.23, we closed the trade (buying back) for 0.14. Thus, the Final Net Credit is $0.63 per share or 51.22% gain on risked capital.. For the 24 contracts on each leg, this position’s net gain for the month is $1,512.

What a fantastic way to start off the new year… despite the market crashing!!
