Index Condor Portfolio
While we didn’t have any trades this week, our portfolio has made strong gains this year despite the market drop. In fact, we are up 20.6% YTD or $2,060. The Index Condor Portfolio typically only trades 50% of the account value. This produces a much more conservative and safe portfolio, however to gain 20.6% on the full $10,000 starting balance proves how well this portfolio has been performing. Traders that join AppleOption, are often excited/anxious to begin placing trades to produce similar gains. Patience, patience, patience! In volatile markets like we have had in the last 3 months, traders absolutely have to wait for good entry points!
Apple Option Short-Term Portfolio
We started the week with a fantastic 192% gain. This trade was initiated 11-days prior. Later in the week, the portfolio made an additional trade that produced a 50% return. And the final trade of the week was perfectly timed. We purchased Apple on the close of Thursday, yet to sell it at the open on Friday for a quick 25% profit!
AppleOption Short-Term Portfolio
As we have discussed with our members, the long term portfolio is all about timing and patience. The portfolio is nicely positioned, however typically takes 3-6 months to become safe. And once we are at that level the portfolio is really safe. Realize that Apple in down 30% from the start of this portfolio. Our performance is in line with Apple, but slightly better. Now considering we have been trading options, this is even more impressive. Repositioning by rolling has been the key during this period. This portfolio is on tract and heading in the right direction.
The trade for the week was selling coverage at near Apple’s recent peak.
