ATP - 3rd Trade - Even
June 19th, 2008. Posted by AppleOption
AppleOption Auto-Trade Portfolio (ATP) is off to a great start!
The most recent trade (3rd) was closed for nearly breakeven. The order was on the June $175 Puts that filled for $0.34. The ATP almost caught the spike to sell at $0.45, but missed by 2 cents! At that point we had a stop loss for $0.38, and ThinkorSwim had temporary routing issues which caused us to miss this exit. Due to this error, they generously refunded all commissions on this trade and exited at $0.33. So while AppleOption called this right maintaining a winning trade average, the trade technically loss $0.01 as a result of ThinkorSwim routing issues.
AppleOption understands that not all auto-trade members have account balances greater than $25,000 and thus are subject to pattern day trader rules. Therefore, AppleOption ATP will at most place three day trades in a five day period. While the major of trades will be held for a few days, occasionally we will day trade. As this is the 3rd day trade in the last 3 days, we will not place Auto-Trades that are day trades in this account till late next week at the earliest.
