iPhone 3G to 42 Nations

Today, America Movil announced that it will launch the iPhone in 10 additional Latin American countries later this month. This brings the second phase roll-out of the iPhone to 20 countries.
Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay which is eleven latin and south american countries releasing on August 22nd. Seven additonal contries including India, Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, Romania, Hungary and the Philippines are known to also release.
Apple has claimed to expand iPhone availability to 20 more contries so there would be 2 remaining unknown nations. Apple currently offers the device in 22 nations, and after August 22nd will expand to 42 total nations!
An interesting note is that America Movil is the fifth largest mobile network operator in the world with over 152 million wireless. If Apple claim’s 5% of all these subscribers they will sell over 7 million phones in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Apple plans a third phase of its iPhone 3G expansion sometime later this year.
